Culture and History is a scientific periodical founded in 2001 at the Faculty of Humanities of UMCS. Since 2004, it has been affiliated with the Institute of Cultural Sciences at UMCS (Faculty of Philology). The journal publishes scientific articles, reviews, conference reports, and interviews with prominent representatives of the humanities. Culture and History is published twice a year. The editorial board may decide to issue a special number within the regular publication schedule. Special issues are published to present important research problems that are new, inspiring, and contribute to filling the cognitive gap in the field of cultural studies and historical sciences. Articles and dissertations in Culture and History are published in Polish and English. The editorial board may decide, in exceptional cases, to publish a scientific article in another language if it is justified by the research topic of the article. The journal is published in electronic format on open access principles. Culture and History is included in the list of scored scientific journals maintained by the Ministry of Science.
