Professor at Maria Curie-Sklodowska University, dr. habil. in law; 1983-1988 law studies at the Faculty of Law and Administration at UMCS; since 1.10.1988 she has worked at the Department of Sociology of Law at the Faculty of Law and Administration of UMCS; on 17.02.1998 she has defended the PhD dissertation: 'Teoria elit Vilfreda Pareta' ('The Vilfredo Pareto's Elite Theory'); on 23.02.2011 she was awarded the degree of doctor with habilitation in legal sciences (law) on the basis of the habilitation thesis ‘Preambuła aktu normatywnego w doktrynie oraz procesie stanowienia i stosowania polskiego prawa w latach 1989-2007’ (‘The Preamble of a Normative Act in the Scholarly Opinion and in the Process of Lawmaking and Law Application in Poland in 1989-2007’; from 1.10.2014 to 30.09.2019 - the Head of the Department of the Sociology of Law; since 1.10.2019 employed at the Department of Theory and Philosophy of Law; in 2012-2019 - the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration at UMCS. In 1995 she has completed her attorney-at-law legal training.
Scientific interests: issues of political elites; problems of democratic rule of law, in particular constitutional principles and ombudsman institutions in the world; preambles to normative acts; legal education and training in legal professions; free legal aid; issues of legal methodology; social operation of law; equity as a criterion for the assessment of law; the role of public opinion in the legislative proces; the principle of appropriate vacatio legis.
