Linguistic Mechanisms of Creating Authorial Neologisms in Literary Works of the Fantasy Genre (Based on Andrzej Sapkowski’s Short Stories)

Abstract

This article concerns language mechanisms used by Andrzej Sapkowski to create linguistic neologisms. It focuses on their structure, semantics and defining the role of this kind of lexicon in the linguistic image of fantasy world. Moreover, the author wanted to show how neologisms function in a  given text, what their function is and how they influence the authorial idiolect of the writer.
