Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.
Author Guidelines
Authors are requested to upload their texts in Polish or English through the journal's editorial panel. The text should be signed with the author's full name and the name of the academic institution represented by the author, along with an abstract and keywords in both the language of the article and in English, as well as an appended bibliography. It is recommended that bibliographic references in footnotes be formatted according to the UMCS Publishing standards. The author must submit a declaration of the originality of the text. The conditions for the acceptance of the article for publication are the approval of the Editorial Board and positive editorial reviews.
In the journal: Culture and History, scientific papers in Polish and English from the broadly understood fields of cultural studies and historical sciences, which are the result of the author's own research, are published. Submitted papers are subject to editorial review. The author of the published work is obliged to transfer their copyright to the publisher. The author is also required to submit a statement that the work is original and has not been published in another journal.
The required layout of the paper: title of the paper in Polish and English, abstract in Polish and English containing up to 600 characters, keywords in Polish and English, bibliography as an appendix. Paper length: a maximum of one publishing sheet (40,000 characters with spaces), one page is approximately 1800 characters with spaces.
Document style - the text of the paper should be written in Times New Roman 12 pt font, line spacing 1.5, it is allowed to use text highlights, e.g., italics and bold text. Double-sided justification. Please include DOI numbers for items that have them. Footnotes should be used in the paper according to the following rules:
- Footnote from a monograph: M. Heidegger, Nietzsche, Warsaw 1999, Scientific Publishing House PWN, p. 122.
- Footnote from a collective work edited by: A.J. García, Anthropology, sociology, and psychology in Spanish krauzopositivism, [in:] E. Górski (ed.), Problems of man in contemporary Spanish thought, Krakow 1982, p. 13.
- Footnote from an article published in a journal: M. Jagłowski, On the beginnings of contemporary Spanish philosophy, "Humanistic Sketches. OSW Scientific Quarterly" 2002, no. 1–2, pp. 61–67.
- Footnote from a website: First, we provide the author, then the title, and then the exact address of the website, followed by the date when the site was accessed. If there is no author, we provide the address and date from the title; if there is neither an author nor a title, only the address and date. J. Woods, Addicted to the scalpel, http://zdrowie.onet.pl/zycie-i-zdrowie/uzaleznieni-od-skalpela,3,5005575,special-art.html, 12.08.2008.
Submission Preparation Checklist
As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.
- The file has been saved in Microsoft Word format (docx).
- As the author submitting the article for publication, I have completed a percentage contribution statement, in which I have provided the contribution of individual co-authors to the submitted article. The completed statement should be uploaded as an additional file along with the article.
- Illustrations and charts have been prepared in separate files at a resolution of 300 DPI.
- Current URLs of cited websites have been included in the footnotes.
- I have followed the recommendations for preparing the text, which is to be subjected to a double-blind review process.
