Dr. hab., professor at UMCS, since 1 October 1988 she has worked at the Department of Law Sociology at the Faculty of Law and Administration of the Maria Curie-Skłodowska University in Lublin. From 1 October 2014 to 30 September 2019 the Head of the Department of Sociology of Law; since 1 October 2019 employed at the Department of Theory and Philosophy of Law. In 2012–2019, the Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Law and Administration for full-time administrative studies. Scientific interests: the issues of political elites; problems of democratic rule of law, in particular constitutional principles and ombudsman institutions in the world; preambles to normative acts, legal education and training in legal professions, free legal aid; issues of legal methodology, social operation of the law, equity as a criterion for the assessment of the law, the role of public opinion in the legislative process, the principle of appropriate vacatio legis.
