The Ecological Concern and the World of Agriculture in Gaspard Koenig’s Novel Humus
Abstract
This article explores the issue of young people’s professional activity in the agricultural sector in contemporary France amid the ecological crisis and globalized economy, as portrayed in Gaspard Koenig’s novel Humus (2023). The analysis focuses on the representation of philosophical, economic, and social ideas within the discourse and the fictional world of the novel. The study examines the intertextual and narrative strategies by which the author situates the novel within various literary, aesthetic, and genre traditions to represent multiple aspects of the ecological concern experienced by the main characters.
