Author Guidelines

Annales UMCS, sectio I publishes academic papers in Polish and conference languages on the subjects of philosophy and sociology that present the Author’s research. All submitted articles are reviewed. The Author of a published work must transfer his/her copyright to the Publisher. The Author must submit a declaration stating that his/her article is original and has not been previously published in any other journal.

Paper layout: title in Polish and English, summary in Polish and English (600-900 characters with spaces), key words in Polish and English, references. The article should not be longer than 40 000 characters with spaces which means that a page should have less than 1800 characters with spaces. Formatting. Use font Times New Roman 12 pts., spacing 1,5. Use italics and bold for emphasis. Justify the text.
Provide DOI numbers for references if available.

Use these guidelines for footnotes:

  • e. Books by one Author: M. Heidegger, Nietzsche, Warszawa1999, Wydawnictwo Naukowe PWN, s. 122.
  • f. Edited volumes:A.J. García, Antropologia, socjologia i psychologia w krauzopozytywizmie hiszpańskim,[w:] E. Górski (red.), Problemy człowieka we współczesnej myśli hiszpańskiej, Kraków1982, s. 13.
  • g. Articles from edited volumes:M. Jagłowski, O początkach współczesnej filozofii hiszpańskiej, „Szkice Humanistyczne. Kwartalnik Naukowy OSW” 2002, nr 1–2, s. 61–67.
  • h. Internet materials:Author, title of the electronic version, website address, date of access. When there is no author, write down the title, website address and date of access. When there is no author or title, provide the website address and date of access.J. Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal. Additionally, you have ready to attach with your article signed percentage of author`s work declaration.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
