Digital libraries and digital archives a new form of provide of sources to research the modern history of Poland

Abstract


The author has analyzed these digital collections, created and made available online via libraries, archives and a variety of institutions and organizations to promote knowledge of history, which can be classified as sources for the study of recent Polish history. He also determined that most research-friendly for researchers are resources created using software called dLibra. What is more, he showed that the special interest of web developers archives and libraries arouse regional materials, newspapers, collections of photos and videos of witnesses of the history and materials related to the history of the opposition to the communist regime, the movement of “Solidarity” and the fate of Poles in exile, in particular those persecuted in the East.
