The author is a professor at the University of Lodz (Poland) researching the history of Polish political thought and constitutional law. He is the head of the European Centre for Constitutional Studies within the Faculty of Law and Administration of the University of Lodz. In the past, he was twice the Minister of Culture and National Heritage. He is currently a senator of the Republic of Poland, and the Chairman of the Committee on Emigration and Liaison with Poles Abroad.
