Logos egipski w "Romansie o Aleksandrze"
Streszczenie w języku polskim
Zamierzeniem autora tego artykułu było zbadanie skali i znaczenia egipskich elementów kulturowych w tzw. logosie egipskim, czyli w pierwszych dwunastu rozdziałach księgi I greckiego anonimowego dzieła Romans o Aleksandrze Ps.-Kallistenesa. Zawiera on opowieść o poczęciu Aleksandra Wielkiego bądź przez boga Amona z Siwy, bądź przez udającego go faraona Nektanebo II i o jego narodzinach. Przedmiotem analizy są zarówno realia kulturowe, jak i kompozycja tej opowieści. Wśród tych pierwszych szczególne miejsce zajmuje ukazanie Nektanebo II jako wróżbity i czarownika. Skonfrontowane z poświadczonym w egipskich i greckich źródłach, zwłaszcza papirologicznych, obrazem magii egipskiej, wykazuje ono doskonałą wiedzę Ps.-Kallistenesa o egipskich praktykach magicznych i o pozycji magii w obrazie prawowitego faraona, przy czym uwagę zwraca zerwanie z typową dla literatury greckiej niechęcią do magii. Logos trafnie też odzwierciedla znane ze Steli Metternicha zainteresowanie magią historycznego Nektanebo II. Zestawienie logosu egipskiego z tzw. Snem Nektanebo znanym z fragmentarycznych papirusów greckich i demotycznych wskazuje na duże podobieństwo ideowe tych dzieł, wynikające być może z ich przynależności do – pierwotnie demotycznego – cyklu opowieści o upadku, wygnaniu i powrocie Nektanebo. Logos egipski Romansu o Aleksandrze wykazuje duże związki z tradycją egipskiej literatury mądrościowej, zaadaptowanej do potrzeb czytelnika greckiego. Logos egipski, wraz z passusami poświęconymi założeniu Aleksandrii i pobytowi Aleksandra w Egipcie, pozwala zidentyfikować anonimowego dla nas Ps.-Kallistenesa jako mieszkańca Aleksandrii, zhellenizowanego Egipcjanina, o niezwykłej wiedzy na temat kultury Egiptu przedgreckiego. Pokazuje on Ps.-Kallistenesa jako erudytę swobodnie przekształcającego materiał zapożyczony od poprzedzających go autorów.
