"East of Europe. Humanities and social studies" a peer-reviewed scientific journal concerning humanities and social sciences published at Maria Curie-Skłodowska University (UMCS) in Lublin by the Centre of Eastern Europe and the Faculty of Political Science. In reference to Rocznik Europejskiego Kolegium Polskich i Ukraińskich Uniwersytetów (2002-2010), the editor strives to integrate the international environment of researchers who deal with issues of East European studies in a broad sense.

The aim of the journal is to conduct a scientific discourse and promote humanistic-social knowledge concerning the countries and societies of Eastern Europe, as well as the historical, political, social and cultural processes that occur in this area. 

The interdisciplinary character of the periodical allows publication of studies, articles and reviews in the field of history, political studies, sociology, security, religious studies, cultural studies and other scientific disciplines.
