Registration and login are required to submit items online and to check the status of current submissions.

 

Author Guidelines

The Culture and Values accepts texts which result from research into the history of philosophy (and by analogy, into other scholarly disciplines), as well as texts whose authors formulate their own conceptions – both solving theoretical problems and examining practical problems which emerge from contemporary challenges. We also publish reviews and reports as well as comments on works published in "Kultura i Wartości".

Texts should be in Polish, English or German and contain an abstract in English, bibliography plus a list of key words. If a manuscript was written in Polish, an abstract  in Polish and key words have to be included. The language used shall be linguistically correct.

Formatting such as increased letter spacing, changes of font sizes and margins to mark quotations   should not be used. Only bold and italics are allowed. Manuscripts shall be formatted   in Microsoft Word.

 As of issue number 23, footnotes and bibliography shall be edited using the Chicago Manual of Style (Notes and Bibliography).

In works written in Polish, use Polish references in the footnotes:  tamże, tenże, por., zob.

Place digital object identifiers (DOIs) for works that have one.

A manuscript shall not contain the name of the author and other data that would allow identifying the author.

A manuscript (scientific article) submitted for publication should have the following layout:

Title

Abstract and keywords

Body of the text

Bibliography

Title, abstract and key words in English.

In a separate file, a brief author’s note should be provided in Polish and English, with data in the following order:  Name and surname; academic degree, academic title; affiliation, correspondence address; e-mail address.

When registering on the journal's website, the Authors shall fill in all columns of the registration form in Polish and English, and give their ORCID identification number.

The maximum size of the manuscript shall not exceed 40,000 characters (1 sheet) including spaces and footnotes. The editorial board reserves the right to publish larger manuscripts. An abstract should not exceed 150 words.

"Kultura i Wartości” does not offer fees for works accepted for publication. The journal "Kultura i Wartości" does not charge authors any fees for the submission of an article for publication, the editorial work on the text, and the publication of the article in the journal.

 

Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  1. The submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration (or an explanation has been provided in Comments to the Editor).
  2. The submission file is in OpenOffice, Microsoft Word, RTF, or WordPerfect document file format.
  3. Where available, URLs for the references have been provided.
  4. The text is single-spaced; uses a 12-point font; employs italics, rather than underlining (except with URL addresses); and all illustrations, figures, and tables are placed within the text at the appropriate points, rather than at the end.
  5. The text adheres to the stylistic and bibliographic requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines, which is found in About the Journal. Additionally, you have ready to attach with your article signed percentage of author`s work declaration.
  6. If submitting to a peer-reviewed section of the journal, the instructions in Ensuring a Blind Review have been followed.
