Streszczenie w języku polskim


Szapur II był najdłużej panującym władcą sasanidzkiego imperium. Zgodnie z legendarną tradycją został królem Iranu jeszcze w łonie matki. Studium analizuje informacje dotyczące powiązań rodzinnych Szapura II, zawartych w przekazach źródłowych, szczególnie tych niezwiązanych z oficjalną tradycją irańską. Wydaje się, że romantyczna opowieść o koronacji Szapura II została zaczerpnięta z eposów kajanidzkich opisujących przejęcie władzy przez Darę, syna Humay i Bahmana, w celu „przykrycia” brutalnej walki frakcji dworskich po śmierci Hormazda II.
