The University of Maria Curie-Skłodowska has its own Academic E-journals Platform which was created on the basis of OJS (Open Journal System) — the software which is made available by the Public Knowledge Project, the most commonly used by different research institutes, repositories, libraries and publishing houses.
Academic E-journals Platform is helpful at every stage of the editorial and publishing processes. It supports the management and circulation of information, facilitates communication, reviewing and indexing publications. Currently, on the Platform there are 34 periodicals published by Maria Curie-Skłodowska University Press. They operate in the Open Access model through the use of Creative Commons open licenses. Owing to the Platform, the content of magazines is visible on the Internet, which significantly contributes to enhancing the transparency of periodicals’ assessments and academic achievements of scholars.
Articles published on the Platform have their own DOI numbers (digital ID), which improves the visibility of the text on the network and increases the chance of citation. The biggest advantage for authors is a considerable facilitation in the dissemination of the prepared research.
The number of readers of published texts is much higher than in the case of traditional (paper) publication. We encourage you to publish your articles in academic journals of UMCS.
