Wgląd w irracjonalność: Schopenhauerowskie tragiczne współczucie
Streszczenie w języku polskim
Projekt poświęcony jest egzystencjalnej naturze tego, co jest bez pozytywnej wartości. Główna teza głosi, że głęboki wgląd w jego strukturę dokonuje się za pośrednictwem dwóch odrębnych, lecz fundamentalnie powiązanych dróg: formalnej filozoficznej doktryny pesymizmu Schopenhauera oraz swoistej orientacji afektywno-poznawczej, którą nazywam tragicznym współczuciem. Artykuł porusza problem tego, w jaki sposób metafizyka fundamentalnej irracjonalności i powszechnego cierpienia przekłada się na praktyczny, etyczny sposób istnienia ludzkiego podmiotu. Arthur Schopenhauer, Philipp Mainländer, Julius Bahnsen oraz Eduard von Hartmann uznają szczególnego rodzaju poznanie poprzez afekt; proponuję pojęcie tragicznego współczucia jako próbę syntetycznego ujęcia tych stanowisk w kontekście etyki. Na pierwszy plan wysuwam niedostatecznie dotąd przebadany aspekt filozofii Schopenhauera dotyczący epistemicznego statusu afektu oraz przedstawiam oryginalną koncepcję tragicznego współczucia.
