Dear Prospective Authors,


It is my great pleasure to invite you to submit your papers to the Special Issue of Studies in Modern Languages and Literature, titled:


The outbreak of the pandemic caused by COVID-19 has brought great challenges for education throughout the world. Thanks to advanced technology, it has become possible to keep its continuity notwithstanding several obstacles. Yet, a number of questions have arisen as regards the effectiveness and productivity of online education, impacts of technology mediated communication on teaching and learning, and ways how to improve the whole process.

Thus, this issue of Lublin Studies in Modern Languages and Literature will publish original papers that demonstrate teaching and learning in virtual contexts, particularly the influence of technology mediated communication on online education, its possible challenges and obstacles as well as the remedies and ways to improve this mechanism.

Some suggested research areas, but not limited to the following topics, are listed below:

  • The effect of COVID-19 on distance teaching and learning
  • Digital tools in fostering SLA and literacy
  • Problems and challenges of technology mediated education
  • The effectiveness of online teaching and learning
  • Online teaching in expanding socio-interactional L2 competence
  • Developing intercultural competence through technology mediated communication

Both position papers and empirical research-based articles (language: English)  are welcome.

All papers will be subject to blind peer review.
