Prof.  Dr. phil. habil. Robert Skoczek is a phonetician, linguist and sworn interpreter. He studied German linguistics at the universities of Lublin and Rostock. He completed his doctoral studies in Jena (Speech Science and Phonetics) and Lublin (Germanic Linguistics) in 2008 and earned his doctorate in the field of German Phonetics. After completing his habilitation at the Department of Speech Science and Phonetics at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg, he has been working as a substitute professor there since 2019. His teaching and research focus is on speech and linguistics as well as on German as a foreign language. As part of the orthoepic researching in Halle, he also contributes to the creation of the German pronunciation database.

Dr. phil. Alexandra Ebel studied speech science, media and communication science as well as intercultural knowledge communication at Martin-Luther-University Halle-Wittenberg. At this University she received her doctorate in speech science and phonetics in 2015. In her dissertation, she worked out recommendations for the Germanization of Russian names. At the moment she works as scientific assistant and teaches and researches topics in auditory, acoustic and contrastive phonetics, orthoepy, in educational videos at YouTube and in the conception of the German Pronunciation database. She is also a member of the editorial team of the German journal sprechen.
