Email this article East Prussia – About What Was and No Longer Is. Travel and Travelogue as a Bridge between Past and Present
Abstract
This paper is devoted to an analysis of the travel reportages of German authors, which were written as a result of contemporary journeys to north-eastern Poland. The aim is to examine to what extent a journey to Poland, to the regions of Warmia and Masuria, is at the same time a journey to the lost landscapes of East Prussia, to what extent the past is present in the travel reports, and to what extent the travel reports evoke and revive what has disappeared.
