Konrad Łyjak is an Assistant Professor in the Department of German Philology in the Institute of Linguistics and Literary Studies at Maria Curie–Sklodowska University in Lublin (Poland) and a sworn translator of German language. His research interests include the literature of 20th and 21st century with focus on the literature about the former German province East Prussia, alcohol and drug addiction and other psychological disorders but also the dystopian literature. The author’s latest research concerns the issue of alcohol abuse by writers and the motive of alcohol addiction in their autobiographic novels.
