Abstract
The article describes the situation of the child in the trial, the legal aspects of his/her interrogation, the influence of developmental processes on the formation of testimony, the natural tendencies of children, and the factors influencing the variability of the report. Hearing is a difficult procedural activity aimed at obtaining evidence. The correct organisation of the interview seems to be crucial for the subsequent assessment of credibility. The article reveals the interdisciplinary issues of the child in the process. It demonstrates the importance of psychology for representatives of the judiciary and shows psychologists (cooperating with the justice system) how legal regulations affect the status of children in criminal law. Moreover, the aim of the article is to attempt to distinguish factors defining aspects of the correct organisation and conduct of an interview with a child and also an analysis of achievements through a review of psychological research. First of all, the aim of the article is to understand what makes a child openly report events towards their truthfulness.
